A Unique Phenomenon

"I promise that if you will listen, you will feel the Spirit well up within you. The Lord will tell you what He wants you to do with your life. In conferences we can receive the word of the Lord meant just for us." -Elder Robert D. Hales

The joy and excitement I have in my heart for Conference weekend is unreal. I have counted down the days, browsed through past conference talks, and have looked forward to this for SO long.

How grateful I am to have the opportunity to listen to the Prophet. To learn, to reevaluate, and to grow.
The motivation that comes through the spirit is irreplaceable and undeniable. I love the way my testimony is strengthened, and my love for the Savior is deepened. It never ceases to amaze me how there is truly something for everyone. No matter what your situation, feelings, or trials you are going through, there is guidance specifically for YOU.

I hope you take the time to really listen to conference, and to share your thoughts with others.
Share your testimony, and listen to the testimonies of others.
The gospel is truly incredible.

Spiritual Feast

It never ceases to amaze me how much General Conference gives me just what I need, how much the spirit overwhelms my heart, and how much love I feel for the gospel, the prophet, and the apostles. I am beyond grateful for the technology we have in this day and age to be able to hear the words of the Lord in my own home, and for being able to watch, listen, and read them whenever I want. Sometimes I take for granted how fortunate I am to have the resources that I do. This conference I got the answer to many questions and prayers, and the spirit also touched me with things I didn't know I needed. What a blessing.

Here are just a few (I know, it looks like more than a few...) of my favorite thoughts from this fall conference.

The Lord will assist us in our labors if we will act in faith to fulfill His work. [ President Thomas S. Monson ] If we listen to the prophets now, we will be strengthened and protected. You must study situations and questions out in your mind, then ask if it be right. Then is when you will receive inspiration. Heavenly Father has provide the way. [ Elder Robert D. Hales ] Thanks to Christ's love, it is possible to change and leave our weaknesses behind. [ Elder Ulisses Soares ] Be anxiously engaged in a good cause. Participate in the work of the salvation. It's not about who we serve, but how we serve. Look ahead and believe. Faith is always pointed towards the future. [ Elder Edward Dube ]  Our daily walk with Jesus Christ leads to peace and purpose in this lie, and profound joy and eternal salvation in the world to come. God is perfect, and his doctrine is pure. Doubt your doubts before you doubt your faith. [ President Dieter F. Uchtdorf ]

Be happy, have faith, find hope. Scriptures are the key to spiritual protection. [ President Boyd K. Packer ] Women, your moral authority is vital. We need women who are tender, kind, refined. Women with faith, goodness, virtue and clarity. Do good, and be good. [ Elder D. Todd Christofferson ] Reach out to others with faith and with love, for small and simple means can rescue a soul. [Elder Arnulfo Valenzuela ] When we love our enemies, we get the blessing of love in return. Be forgiving, have faith in the Lord's timing. His grace is sufficient, and you will not walk alone. [ Elder Timothy J Dyches ] Appreciate His devine love, never lose faith in your Father in Heaven. God's love is there for you whether you deserve it or not. It is always, always there. Believe in miracles, be still and wait. Be grateful and be patient, believe in miracles. There is much in life to be hopeful for and to be grateful for. Trust in God and hold on in his love. Be merciful, non judgmental, and kind. [ Elder Jeffrey R. Holland ] Fear will be replaced with faith and confidence when you pray for missionary opportunities and act on those promptings. It's impossible to fail when we do our best and we are on the Lord's errand. Seek to find "the one". [ Elder M. Russell Ballard ]

Our journey through life is a test of our character. Be spiritually prepared, study and do, and have the strength to endure. [ Elder Richard J Maynes ] Be virtuous and pure, do what it takes to be like Him, and learn to recognize the power of the atonement. [Elder Richard G Scott ] Only the Master knows the depth of our pains and trials. Heavenly comfort is priceless. He is with us in the best of times and the worst of times. We must pray and listen to him everyday. [ President Thomas S. Monson ]

With time and eternal perspective we will see things as they really are. [ Elder Neil L. Andersen ] God speaks, and he will speak to you. We must learn to listen and live so we can have the Holy Ghost as our guide and companion. [ Brother David M. McConkie ] Be willing to endure to the end, and continually hold fast to the iron rod. Have daily personal and family prayer. Great power and personal peace come as we understand the doctrines of the restored gospel. Our everyday decisions will impact our lives in significant ways.  [ Elder Kevin S. Hamilton ] Don't forget to look up, and look to the source of our wisdom and truth. There is safety in a strong testimony. [ Elder Adrian Ochoa ] "I can return that love (the love of our Savior) in my own imperfect way by giving him my heart. [ Elder Terence M. Vinson ] You're never too young to learn and never too old to change. In truth, not one of us can ever stop being a child of God. Your Heavenly Father has known you for a very long time. You were chosen not for you physical characteristics, but for your spiritual attributes.
 [ Elder Russell M. Nelson ]

I have such a strong testimony of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I know that my Redeemer lives, and I know that this is the true church. My heart is so full with gratitude towards all of the church leaders who teach and love with the spirit of Christ. I know that what happened that spring morning in the Sacred Grove was such a magnificent blessing, and I will forever be grateful for Joseph Smith; that he had the courage and faith to follow the Lord's directions, and for the sacrifices he made for me to have the gospel in my life. The atonement is something I cherish very dearly, and it's my hope that we all can use it daily, and know of it's importance. I'm grateful for eternal families, and that I was fortunate enough to be born under the covenant. I love the commandments and strive to live them the best I can. I am especially grateful that the gospel and my testimony can never be taken away from me. I love this church with all my heart, and I leave my testimony with you, in the name of my beloved Savior, Jesus Christ, amen.

I Know It. I Live It. I Love It.

This is such a wonderful time of year.  The air reveals it's long hidden breath of Fall, the leaves change to magnificent shades of orange, red and yellow, sweaters and boots get pulled out, and General Conference blesses us once again.  It's safe to say that we have so much to be so grateful for.

Here are a few of my favorite highlights from this October 2012 General Conference.
