Guess What Day It Is!

Typically hump day is on Wednesdays...
BUT!
This week it's on a Thursday, because one of my favorite
missionaries in the whole wide world has been out for
1 YEAR!
I can't believe how fast it has gone, and I am beyond proud of him!

Happy Hump Day Elder Morse!

Nights Like These

It's nights like tonight when it's so real that Jess is 2000+ miles away.
The phone calls that last for 3.5 hours and end at 1:30 in the morning.
The amounts of topics we go through in quick spurts.
The laughs and tears and all emotions.
Reminiscing.
And in just 18 days she will be home.
I'm so excited, and that's an understatement.
Very few people mean more to me than she does.
And I've been extremely blessed to have her by my side in all things.

"But friendship is precious, not only in the shade, but in the sunshine of life, and thanks to a benevolent arrangement the greater part of life is sunshine."
[ Thomas Jefferson ]

Some Days

"Some days you wake up and begin to wonder
What a long night, where was the slumber?
Tired and weak you get out of bed
Pushing yourself for the long day ahead.
Some days you make it to noon and give up.
Some days you think you've just ran out of luck.
No one understands what goes through your mind,
and no matter what you say you're always behind.
But when you look in between all the frustrations,
you find not one, not two, but three tender creations.
Creations you see can be all shapes and sizes,
unexpected, planned, full of surprises.
We all have small blessings, some we ignore.
But stop and recognize them before you rush out the door."

Days like today I need to stop and realize how great life truly is. You can't let being sick, having a busy mind, a constant worry ever replace how much positivity surrounds you. I'm the type of person who always has a plan, who worries about everyone and everything, but today I sat back and enjoyed one of the happiest friendships I have. Unexpected visits from long time best friends can turn anything into a positive situation. I wish I could explain my love and gratefulness I have towards them, but it's not possible. Also, not just the ones who came tonight, but the two others too. I am so blessed to have such amazing people in my life that care about me so much! Friendship is a beautiful thing. <3

Dear Jess

Okay, so this might or might not be the seventh way I have wished you a Happy Birthday. Gotta love social networking, right? Plus, there's one way you haven't seen yet. Anyway, who doesn't love to be wished a happy birthday over and over again? ;)
We've gone through some bumpy roads to get here, but I wouldn't trade these past few years for anything.  You have taught me so much and have been such an incredible example to me, and I will forever be grateful. I still wish that I could create a mirror to give you that let's you see how I see you.  You are an incredible person and I'm grateful to have you in my life.
Thank you for always being supportive and caring.  I can't thank you enough for everything you have done for me over the years, and how you have influenced my life.
I hope you have the greatest week on your road trip and make so many memories!  I wish I could be with you on this glorious second best day of the year ;) , but I'm so excited to see you when you get home. I wish you the best day ever, and I hope all your wishes come true!

Cheers to the Birthday Girl!
Love you so much. :)
