This week two of my siblings and I got to take a last minute road trip over to the centennial state with my dad who was there on business! This was my first visit to this gorgeous state, and I loved every minute of it!

We rode the Pikes Peak Cog Railway (which is the highest cog railway in the United States) up to American's mountain - Pikes Peak which is 14,000 + miles above sea level. We could see five states from the very top! Kansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Colorado, and Wyoming! And yes, it was a whoppin 38 degrees up there. This is a definite must in good ole CO. It was amazing!

That little blue can in my hand? ^^ That would be oxygen. Yes. oxygen. They have it available for altitude sickness and such. That's how high we were! Crazy right?! And in case you were wondering, it did get used.

We went to America's only mountainside zoo, a.k.a the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo and it was SO MUCH FUN! I heard it's the third largest in the country too... but I don't know for a fact. Anyways, I haven't been to the zoo since I was little, and I loved it. Side note - behind a giraffe's ear feels like a minky blanket, and kangaroos are MUCH softer than you'd expect.

We took a visit to the Garden of the Gods at sunset. Gorgeous right?

We strolled the streets of Manitou, CO. I've never seen so many gypsie's and cute little stores in my life! That little town is famous for it's natural mineral springs, so my dad and siblings tried every one. I wasn't about to drink that nasty stuff. And of course, we had to taste test the chocolate. Patsy's gets two thumbs up.

We also saw How To Train Your Dragon 2 - it's a must see. I may or may not have shed a few tears.. seriously. so. good.

The drive wasn't that bad either. I mean, you've got that ^^ to look at.

That makes 13/50 on my visited states. Only 37 left!

Now it's back to the real world. BOO.
