Blind Dates

I HATE blind dates, like bad.
I shouldn't though, because I've never had a bad blind date experience.
As a matter of fact, they have all been absolutely great!
(knock on wood)
But every time I get set up on one, I become a crazy person.
I'm talkin a cranky, anxious, negative piece of a human.
I guess I always just expect and plan for the worst.

I bring this up because last night I had a blind date.
Did I want to go?
HAHAHA um... no.
But I said yes and plans were made.
I hoped he would ditch last minute. I'm terrible.
Three weeks fresh from the mish, me being his first date home, I didn't want to go.
He picked me up, and it was smooth sailing from there on out!
He wasn't awkward, he was super sweet, and we had a good time!
Phone numbers were exchanged, and the date was a success.
So, did I overreact before? That's a definite.
But hey, they are scary!

The other 1 1/2 (yes the half is real)
were A-MAZING.
Really though, thought I found "the one" after a few months of dating,
then dumped him for the possibility of a soon-to-be-home-missionary.
(I know. How dumb. Now "the one" is married.)

The 1/2 comes in at the soon-to-be-home-missionary.
I had known his dad for 4 or 5 years before and had always talked about
his son. Said son and I went on one date (only having briefly met once before),
then he left for his mish. I wrote him a couple times, he came home and we dated off and on.
He was jokingly called Mr. Destiny for a while.

And now, here I am, a third blind date later.
No super awesome story, or nicknames.
Only the fact that blind dates are not bad.
I'm just a baby.

Also, thank the heavens for Facebook! ;)

    1. No, but his cousin (the one that set us up) just texted me and asked if I'd want to go out again! I guess he texted her and said he really wanted to take me out again, but didn't want to bug me if I wasn't interested!

  2. I've had a horrible blind date before and I was stuck hiking up and down a mountain with him. I only did it for a good friend because she liked his roommate and we doubled. She owes me haha. Best of luck on blind dates! Sometimes they turn into the best stories!
