Cover To Cover

I'm so excited about the new year, and to see what 2014 has in store for me!
But more than that, I'm so excited about the New Year's Resolution my brother and I have made.
And we want to invite you to join us!

Our goal this year is to read the Book of Mormon, not once, not twice, but three times!
The first being cover to cover in 90 days,
starting on January 1st and ending March 31st!
(Reading Chart Below)

"President Hinckley has encouraged us to read the Book of Mormon
to lift us about the things of the world, to enjoy the things of the Lord.
He said, "Without reservation I promise you that if each of you will observe
this simple program, regardless of how many times you previously
may have read the Book of Mormon, there will come into your lives
and into your homes an added measure of the Spirit of the Lord,
a strengthened resolution to walk in obedience to His commandments,
and a stronger testimony of the living reality of the Son of God"
(Liahona and Ensign, Aug 2005, 6).
These blessings are far more valuable than material  possessions."
-Elder L.Tom Perry

I am so excited to challenge myself to read it all three times.
I always find myself forgetting, or putting it off, or maybe not doing as well as I could be,
and it's something I have strived to get better at.
I am excited to strengthen my testimony and to increase my knowledge of the gospel!

"Each individual who prayerfully studies the Book of Mormon
can also receive a testimony of its divinity. In addition,
this book can help with personal problems in a very real way.
Do you want to get rid of a bad habit? Do you want to improve relationships
with your family? Do you want to increase your spiritual capacity?
Read the Book of Mormon! It will bring you closer to the Lord and His loving power.
He who fed a multitude with five loaves and two fishes-- He who helped the blind to see
and the lame to walk -- can also bless you! He has promised that those who live by the precepts
of this book "shall receive a crown of eternal life."
- Elder Russell M. Nelson

My brother and I bought new individual copies of the Book of Mormon
to start our challenge with, and when the 90 days are up, we decided we are
going to write our testimony in it and give it to the other person. We invite you
to do the same! Maybe give it to a close friend, someone struggling,
a non-member, or if you're feeling brave a stranger! We know that the power
of being member missionaries is strong and that we can be an example
to anyone and everyone around us. Share this challenge with your friends and family,
and you too will be blessed! We'd also love to hear updates on
how your reading is going and things you have learned throughout the way.

I know that the Book of Mormon can bring so much happiness into your life.
I'm so grateful for the scriptures and for the atonement. I would be so lost in this big world
without them. I love my sweet, sweet Savior with all my heart! I'm extremely
grateful for prayer, so that I can always talk to my Heavenly Father in times
of happiness and despair. I know President Thomas S. Monson is the true and living
prophet, and that Joseph Smith restored the gospel. I'm proud to be a member
of this church and pray that I can be an instrument in the Lord's hand always!
And I hope that with this challenge, someone's heart will be touched. :)
